PHILADELPHIA -

On Tuesday May 20, Pennsylvania became the 19th state to recognize same-sex marriage with a ruling by a federal judge.

Many couples rushed to City Hall to get marriage licenses. One of first couples who made their way down to City Hall were Ashley Wilson and Lindsay Vandermay.

Ashley and Lindsay have been partners for five years and engaged for two.

“Philadelphia is our city and the fact that Philadelphia opened its arms to us and so many other gay and lesbian women here. This is for everyone, so congratulations,” said Lindsay Vandermay-Wilson

They two waited the state requirement of three days and said their vows right at the stroke of midnight.
