DALLAS- Dallas police have arrested a mother accused of trying to drown her children while high on PCP and marijuana.
Earnest Gardner and his family can't believe his sister is sister is charged with attempted capital murder.
Police say 35-year-old Sonja Gardner, tried to kill her youngest two girls ages four and 6 after smoking pot laced with PCP.
Investigator say Gardner's 18 year old son Jydesmon heard screaming from outside and broke into the apartment.
According to this police affidavit says his mother was upset because the children were asking for snacks.
As Jydesmon got into the apartment the affidavit says he "shot his gun into the ceiling and kicked in the bathroom door." Police say he pulled both of his sisters out of the bath tub dropped them off with neighbors, and took off.
"The sister I know?" Earnest begins, "Is fun outgoing, full of life the jokester of our family. Loves her kids to death. The light that they are putting her in is not actually her not her at all. The kids are always happy, for this to happen this is totally out of her character."
Police say Jydesmon is a lifesaver, but he's also wanted for an outstanding warrant and now police are trying to find him.
Family members say Gardner has 4 children. Jydesmon, the eldest, and three girls ages thirteen, six, and four. All three of the young girls are in foster care.
