Man Dies From Overnight Shooting In North Phila

Officers tell FOX 29 the found a man in critical condition from a shooting in North Philadelphia.

Shortly after 4:30am on Thursday, Philadelphia Police received a call of a person shot on the 1000 block of Harper St.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man critically injured from a gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of Plymouth minivan at a Dunkin Donuts on 10th and Girard Avenue.

Police say someone came up to the vehicle and started firing shots. At least three shots were fired from a semi-automatic hand gun. The male was either driving or parked on the 1000 block of Harper Street. It appears that he drove about a half block north to 10th and Girard where his vehicle came to a rest at the Dunkin Donuts parking lot.

The driver was taken to Hahnemann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An uninjured witness who was in the front passenger seat was transported to homicide detectives and is being interviewed by detectives.

Police are reviewing private surveillance cameras of businesses in the area,
