A Mt. Airy family wants answers after an early morning murder that has left them devastated.

Police found Tyrek Connor shot to death in the back seat of his car with his pants down.

Police say the motive appears to be robbery, and his family believes he was targeted after he won some money gambling over the holiday weekend.

“They have really, really taken from me. I just don’t understand why," Connor's mother Karen said.

Karen Connor and her family are left with more questions than answers after her son Tyrek was found murdered in the backseat of his Mercedes-Benz on the 500 block of East Armstrong Lane, not far from LaSalle University.

Investigators discovered the 25-year-old with his pants down and a single gunshot wound to his head as the sun came up.

His mother doesn't know what he was doing in that area.

“I don’t know of him to frequent any women of the night or anything like that, but from what I’m told that area is what’s going around there, so just hopefully they can get to the bottom of it," Connor said.

Police said they found Connor's wallet outside his car with no money in it.

His mother said he just bought a TV with some gambling winnings after her birthday weekend in Atlantic City.

She believes his assailant may have known that from an Instagram post.

“I don’t know if he did mention; you know he was with me in Atlantic City and did pretty good, if somebody saw it and set him up, I don’t know. I don’t know what happened," Connor said.

Connor had no criminal record, worked full time as a dialysis technician and left behind a three year-old daughter.

Now his mother hopes someone will come forward, to give her family some justice.

“If anyone out there knows anything, please contact the police because my son did not deserve to go out that way. Whatever you wanted from him, you could have just asked him or just taken it. You did not have to kill him, did not have to kill him," Connor said.

Police believe the shooter was inside the car when the shot was fired.

A $20,000 reward is being offered in the case.
