18-year-old woman fatally stabbed in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - A woman is dead after being stabbed near a rail yard in Brooklyn Friday night.

According to the NYPD, Tanya Grant-Copeland, 18, was found outside of a rail yard in East New York by a taxi driver around 10:30PM on Friday night. She was unconscious and bleeding heavily from stab wounds.

She was taken by EMTs to an area hospital and was later pronounced dead.

A vigil for Grant-Copeland is planned for 6 p.m. Saturday at Linwood Street and Stanley Avenue.

The NYPD confirms the investigation is on-going, but so far, no arrests have been made.
