Video: Employee Struggles Over Gun With Robbery Suspect In North Phila

Police are looking for a man who robbed the Maria Mini Market in North Philadelphia.

On May 4, 2014, at 1:55pm, police say an unknown man wearing a mask entered the Maria Mini Market located at 2450 West Montgomery Avenue armed with a handgun pointing it at an employee demanding money.

During the robbery, the employee was involved in a brief struggle over the gun. As the other employees came to the front of the store, the suspect fled without taking any money.

The suspect depicted was recognized as a frequent customer of the store and was captured on surveillance video several days later after the robbery.

Police describe the suspect as Black male, 23-28 years-of-age, mustache, small goatee, medium build, tattoo of a name on his right arm, possible small scar of birth mark on his left knuckle, and may live in the area of James W. Johnson Homes located at 2500 West Norris Street.
