PHILADELPHIA - Branzino Restaurant at 17th and Spruce was closed after witnesses say about 15 armed IRS agents with the Criminal Investigation division swarmed in on the restaurant around 12 p.m. Tuesday.

IRS agents were seen taking boxes of evidence from the business throughout the day.

Agents who were on-the-scene are not saying why they investigating. They only say that they are serving a search warrant.

“They went in with guns and bulletproof vests. And I asked what was going on, but they said it didn’t concern me, so that was that,” said witness Andy Kim.

Fox 29 tried calling the restaurant and its owner to see if we could get any information, but our calls have not been returned.

As of 10 p.m. Tuesday, agents were still inside the restaurant.
