It looks like not everyone is "Happy" with how Pharrell is dressed on the cover of the UK edition of Elle Magazine. The 41-year-old star is apologizing for the controversial cover.
Both Pharrell and the magazine are being slammed on social media for this image.
Elle UK released a photo of their July issue on their Facebook page. You can see Pharrell is sporting a feathered headdress, a sacred symbol for Native Americans.
The photo was first posted with a caption that was later deleted referring to trading in Pharrell's Mountie hat for the headdress. Immediately thousands commented and posted on twitter using the hashtag #nothappy, a play on his hit song. People called the cover everything from "disrespectful," to "disturbing" to "racist."
Pharrell issued a statement through his publicist:
"I respect and honor every kind of race, background and culture. I am genuinely sorry," ?according to the Washington Post.?
