SWEDESBORO, N.J. -

SWEDESBORO, N.J. – On Friday, Fox 29 brought you the story of Mario Carpino, a young boy who was diagnosed with inoperable brain tumors at age 4.

Even with his condition, Mario decided to give back to other kids fighting cancer by starting a lemonade stand to raise money.

On Saturday, Jon Bon Jovi gave Mario the surprise of a lifetime, when he made an appearance at Mario's Lemonade Stand.

Bon Jovi spent time with Mario sharing hugs, and posing for pictures and even lending a helping hand.

Despite what he's faced at such a young age, Mario is a fighter, and a believer.

“It doesn't affect me, it may affect other people, cause god led me through it, Father Pio led me through it,” Mario said.

Padre Pio is one hero; his other is Jersey guy Jon Bon Jovi. The classic hit “Who Says You Can’t Go Home, is his favorite song.

Even though Mario's goal was to help others in need, he still had a personal wish.

He had previously asked his mom if Bon Jovi could come to his Alex's Lemonade Stand at the Woolwich Fire Department to help kids with cancer.

“Anything can happen you always tell me never give up right? I said yeah, keep fighting for what you believe in, let's do it I made a Facebook page,” Anna recalled.

Mario's Lemonade Stand Facebook page has thousands of likes and even more South Jersey shout outs.

So far they've raised $150,000 over four years, and the spirits of a little boy with everything to live for.

“Nothing can put you down, nothing can make you go down, nobody can tell you stop believing,” said Mario.

After Mario's biggest wish came true, it will be hard for him or his family to ever stop believing.
