1 Dead, 1 Injured In Alleged Road Rage Shooting

Posted: Updated:
FELTONVILLE, Pa. - Police are investigating an alleged case of deadly road rage that happened in Feltonville on Saturday night.

Police say just after 11 p.m. on the Roosevelt Boulevard and 5th Street, a motorcyclist opened fire on a driver and his passenger. The alleged road rage incident left a man dead and his female passenger critically injured.

The incident has many residents on edge.

"It's really sad because people don't have any regard for life," said Northeast Philadelphia resident Olufemi Fadeyibi. "I think the biggest lesson is ‘think before you react.’ It's really not that deep to take a life over.

"It's something you hear about more and more. I don't know maybe somebody needs to do something. Change the gun laws to make sure something like this doesn't happen to innocent people," said resident Mark Christopher.

Police say they were nearby when it happened.

According to police, gun shots rang out and they saw numerous motorcycles surrounding this 2003 Buick Century. Then, they say the suspect was seen running from the scene, northbound on 5th Street

"It’s senseless. Never should something like that happen," said resident Nigel Thompson.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital, but it was too late for the driver who police say died a short time later.

“Sometimes we can be so irrational. It's sad. Unfortunate. One split decision could destroy your life," said resident Eric Westbrook.

The passenger is still in critical condition at Temple University hospital.

Police say they are questioning a suspect, but no charges have been filed.
