Allegations Of Deceptive Business Practices Pile Up For Bucks County Contractor

Posted: Updated:
BENSALEM, Pa. -

Fox 29's Bruce Gordon has been reporting on the allegations of deceptive business practices against 58-year-old John Succi since November of 2012.

Bruce has talked to him by phone, knocked on his door, but never got a chance to question him face-to-face until Friday.

John Succi was tight-lipped after making bail and pleading not guilty to these latest charges.

Prosecutors say the Yardley-based contractor accepted more than $34,000 for a roof replacement on a Tullytown commercial building late last Fall.

But they say Succi did only part of the job, and left the roof exposed.

When snow and ice hit that open building, $200,000 worth of personal and tenants' property inside the building was destroyed.

A second contractor had to be called in to complete the job.

Prosecutors say Succi never applied for, nor received, permits to do the work in the first place.

Succi's lawyer blames "Old Man Winter."

Back in February Succi was charged with cheating 8 other customers out of more than 1.6 million dollars, for jobs in which prosecutors claim he took money and failed to do the work.

We told you the story of Cindy Ross of Levittown.

She says she paid Succi $86,000, but claims he worked without permits, gutted her home, then abandoned the project.

Court documents from that February case describe Succi's bank records showing "large and frequent purchases" at Atlantic City casinos and jewelry stores and ATM withdrawals at gentlemen's clubs.

This new case against Succi came about when the alleged victim saw our coverage of the February arrest and charges and notified authorities.

If there are still other cases out there, or other alleged victims, prosecutors want to know about them.
