Tom's River Police Release Sketch Of Attempted Luring Suspect

Posted: Updated:

Tom's River Police are investigating an attempted child luring that took place late last week, and have released a composite sketch of the suspect.

On Friday June 20th, officers responded to a call following an attempted luring of a young boy.

Police say the boy was playing in a fenced in area of his front yard on Terrace Avenue, while his aunt was watching him from a short distance away.

The aunt then saw a vehicle pull up and stop, and distinctly heard the male driver say to the boy "Come on, I got candy."

According to police, the aunt does not think the suspect saw her in the yard when the interaction took place, and she then ran towards the street yelling at the driver.

The vehicle then fled west on Terrace Avenue.

The aunt was able to provide enough details about the driver's appearance for police to come up with a composite sketch.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Louis Santora at 732-349-0150 extension 1276 or private message at
