Firefighters Rescue Dog Stuck In Drain

Posted: Updated:
SACRAMENTO, CA- It was supposed to be a simple bath for a little Chihuahua in Sacramento.

However, it ended up with several firefighters in the bathroom.

Little Bailey was definitely not enjoying bathtime, and was attempting to jump out of the tub, when he somehow got his back paws stuck in the drain.

The doggie-drama forced firefighters out to the home.

But because of Bailey's discomfort and attitude they had to bring in a local vet to help him out.

The firefighters had to hammer their way into the tub and drain in order to free the poor pooch.

"Pretty soon, I found myself on a hot Sunday afternoon with a Chihuahua and three firefighters in a bathtub," said veterinarian Jean Rabinoqitz. “It was pretty tough, it took about 20 hammers each time. Each time, the dog and I were bouncing in the bathtub.”

The dog's owner says there won't be a next time because she won't be setting the dog down inside the tub anymore.
