NJ Park And Beach Smoking Ban Heads To Governor's Desk

TRENTON, N.J. -

It could soon be illegal to smoke at some New Jersey parks and beaches.

The Senate and Assembly passed a measure Thursday that would ban lighting up at state and county parks and limited beaches.

The bill now heads to Gov. Chris Christie's desk for consideration.

If passed, it would allow counties and municipalities to set aside up to 15 percent of a beach as a designated smoking area.
