Lucy Noland joined the FOX 29 team in June 2014. She is the weekday co-anchor of the FOX 29 News at 5, FOX 29 News at 6, and FOX 29 News at 10.

Prior to joining FOX 29, Lucy anchored the noon and 6pm newscasts at KNBC in Los Angeles. From 2007 to 2011 she anchored the 5pm and 10pm newscasts at KHOU11 News in Houston, TX.

Lucy was part of the FOX family before, when she co-hosted “Good Day New York,” the morning show at the FOX owned-and operated station WNYW-TV. Before that, she was a weekday morning anchor and franchise reporter at WJBK-TV, the FOX owned-and-operated station in Detroit, MI, for six years.

Lucy also worked as a reporter and anchor for KGO-TV, the ABC O&O in San Francisco. She was based in Fresno where she reported, anchored and filed in depth stories back to San Francisco-- covering everything from immigration where her photographer and her trudged through sewage-drenched mudflats separating Tijuana from San Diego under the cover of night to water-rights issues which took them into hydro-electric projects deep underground and into the fertile fields of the irrigated San Joaquin Valley.

Lucy’s professional career began at KATN-TV, the ABC affiliate in Fairbanks, Alaska. She shot, wrote and edited her own stories and anchored various newscasts. Some of the stories she worked on early in her career afforded her the opportunity to buzz Mt. McKinley (Denali to most Alaskans) in a C-130 and refuel an A-10 “Warthog” from a gas-station in the sky, a KC-135 Stratotanker. Lucy worked the boom and refueled the A-10 herself-- imagine the pilot’s surprise!

After transferring to KIMO in Anchorage, she covered the eruptions of Mt. Redoubt then Mt. Spurr, guiding Alaskans through the ash-covered days that followed. NASA invited her on a journey into Mt. Spurr’s crater (obviously post eruption) to test out its prototype Mars rover named Dante.

Lucy graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a degree in broadcasting. She was a DJ at KSUA, which at the time was the nation’s number one commercial college station. As a journalism student, she also produced newscasts for the station.

Lucy’s work has earned her various EMMY, Golden Mike, Edward R. Murrow and AP Broadcasters awards. However, Lucy’s biggest reward has always been the ability to help people who need it through her work.

Lucy was born in Saigon, Vietnam. She grew up near the University of Oregon in Eugene. Growing up, she was always asked “What are you?” Lucy was an ethnically-diverse kid when no one knew what that term meant. She was never offended. She replied “I’m an American.” And she is thrilled to call “The Birthplace of America” her new home.
