Humpty Dumpty Has A ‘Great Fall’

Posted: Updated:

Salem, OR- A fairy tale came to life in Salem, Oregon.

Everyone knows the "Humpty Dumpty" poem, especially the part where he has a great fall.

At Salem's "Enchanted Forest" Amusement Park a cement Humpty Dumpty art piece took a great fall of his own and smashed to bits on the sidewalk on Saturday.

Humpy’s fate was accidental. It happened when two men climbed over the retaining wall and knocked him over.

The artist was sad to see him go.

"It'll take quite a few hours just to start from scratch again, try and duplicate what I had, that's the problem I’m gonna have to make it like it was before, and I’m 84 so I hope I still have some creative juices left,” said artist Roger Tufte.

Humpty Dumpty had a good run. He’d been sitting on that wall since 1970.
