SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA -

Police are looking for a man who they say struck a woman in Southwest Cedar Park after she bumped into him while stepping off a trolley.

The incident happened on July 10 at 5:35 p.m. when a 39-year-old female was exiting the Route 34 SEPTA trolley near 47th Street and Baltimore Avenue.

The woman bumped into an unknown male who was standing in the doorway. Police say the suspect was then caught on video throwing a cup at her and following her off the trolley, striking her one time with a closed fist.

The suspect then grabbed the woman's headphones, police say. After a brief struggle, he got back on the trolley, then decided to take off. He was last seen headed toward 46th Street.

The woman was treated at University of Pennsylvania, where she received two stitches to her lip.

Police described the suspect as black, 20-years-old, 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a thin build. They say he was clean-shaven, wearing a dark-colored T-shirt with writing on the front, black shorts, and a multi-colored backpack with thin shoulder straps.

If you see this suspect, police say call 9-1-1. If you have any information about this crime, please contact Southwest Detective Division at 215-686-3183.
