SPRINGFIELD, Pa. -

Authorities say they are searching allegedly for two dismembered bodies buried in a wooded in Indian Rock Park in Springfield after a murder suspect confessed to killing two people.

According to police, they interviewed a suspect, who is currently in jail for a double murder in Philadelphia, a home invasion in Upper Darby and a rape in Maryland.

"He said he killed 2 people in his apartment in February of 2012. He dismembered their bodies inside his apartment in the bathtub, put bodies in bags, drove car here to wooded area and buried them,” said Upper Darby Superintendent Michael Chitwood.

Police took the suspect from Upper Darby Headquarters on Friday to a park to show where he allegedly buried the bodies. They had a front-end loader digging up the area. They're working closely with the Springfield Police Department.

The search turned up nothing on Friday. Police will resume the search on Saturday morning.
